At One Step At A Time Recovery House, sobriety and stability are supported through clear expectations, structure, and accountability. Our housing program is designed for individuals who are committed to maintaining sobriety, following program guidelines, and actively participating in their recovery. House expectations are reviewed in full during the intake process and must be agreed upon prior to placement.

Understanding House Expectations That Support Sobriety & Stability
A structured housing environment plays a critical role in supporting long-term recovery. Clear house expectations help create safety, consistency, and accountability for all residents. These expectations are in place to protect the recovery environment and ensure that each individual has the opportunity to remain focused on sobriety and personal growth.
Sobriety Compliance: Residents must maintain sobriety at all times while participating in the program.
Accountability & Structure: Daily routines, curfews, and responsibilities are designed to support recovery-focused living.
Community Respect: Residents are expected to maintain respectful behavior toward staff, peers, and the home.
Program Participation: Active engagement in required recovery-related activities is mandatory.
Core House Rules & Program Expectations
Sobriety & Drug Screening
Residents are required to maintain sobriety at all times. Random drug and alcohol screenings are conducted to ensure a safe and recovery-focused environment. Refusal to test or a positive screening may result in immediate removal from the program.
Required Meetings & Recovery Engagement
Residents must attend required recovery meetings throughout the week and actively engage in peer recovery support. Proof of attendance may be required.
Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS) Partnership
All residents are required to be paired with and actively engage with a Registered Peer Recovery Specialist. Peer support is a core component of the One Step At A Time Recovery House program and is designed to provide accountability, encouragement, and recovery-informed guidance. Participation with peer support is required for continued placement in the program.
Program Compliance & Conduct
All residents must follow the house rules outlined in the intake package. This includes adherence to curfews, cleanliness standards, guest policies, and respectful behavior. Violations of house rules will be addressed according to program guidelines.
Housing Program Agreement (Not a Lease)
One Step At A Time Recovery House is a recovery-focused housing program, not a tenant–landlord lease arrangement. Participation is contingent upon ongoing compliance with program expectations.
Program Removal Policy
The Program Director reserves the right to remove any participant from the program if house rules are violated, sobriety is compromised, or behavior disrupts the safety and recovery of others.
Peer Accountability & Community Standards
Residents are encouraged to support one another through peer accountability and shared responsibility. Living in a recovery-focused environment requires cooperation, honesty, and mutual respect. Community standards are in place to ensure a safe and supportive atmosphere for everyone in the home.
House expectations at One Step At A Time Recovery House are designed to protect the integrity of the recovery environment while supporting individual accountability and growth. All expectations are reviewed during the intake process and must be agreed upon prior to acceptance into the program.
Our goal is to provide a safe, structured living environment where residents can focus on recovery, stability, and next steps toward independent living—one step at a time.
